A few weeks ago, I woke up to find my air conditioner blowing warm air. I suspected the issue was a failed capacitor in the outdoor unit, but I wanted a professional to confirm the diagnosis before replacing anything.

I'd had concerns about the pricing of the large HVAC/plumbing company I'd used in the past, so I decided to try AVS instead, since they appeared to be a smaller, family-owned business.
The technician, Bob, was excellent. He quickly confirmed that the capacitor had failed and replaced it . He was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.

I'm giving four stars instead of five because of the pricing. Bob had to call the office to get the price for the part, and after (I assume) looking up my ZIP code, they quoted $429 for the service. Considering the replacement capacitor itself costs around $30 and the repair took about 15 minutes, the total felt excessive.

Overall, Bob earned five stars, but the pricing left a sour taste. Ironically, I suspect I wouldn't have paid any more with the larger company I was trying to avoid. Not sure I'll be back.

Sean was fantastic. He arrived promptly, communicated clearly, and was incredibly thorough throughout the entire visit. His knowledge and expertise were obvious, and he took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. He was kind, respectful, neat, and very professional. I also appreciated the great advice he gave for future maintenance and work — it shows he genuinely cares about long‑term solutions, not just quick fixes. Sean was extremely responsive and made the whole experience smooth and stress‑free. AVS is lucky to have him. Highly recommend.

Our AC stopped working during the heatwave. They were able to come same day as opposed to several other companies we called. Fast and friendly service and competitive pricing.

In the middle of the worst heatwave in years, my air conditioner suddenly stopped working, and it was only 2 years old. I could not find anyone to come out to look at it, including the company that installed it. I called AVS, and not only did they come out at 11:00 pm that very same evening, just a few hours after I called, the efficiently and professionally diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor, replaced it, and had the air conditioner running again in just 15 minutes. I was very grateful to have found this company and for their prompt service at such a late hour, especially on a holiday weekend. Thank you!
